World Cup winners to take home USD 4 million

The winning team of the upcoming ICC Men's World Cup will earn a monetary prize of USD 4 million, the highest till date, whereas the runner-up team will walk away with a prize of USD 2 million. In addition to that, the two losing semi-finalists will win USD 800,000 each. There are also financial incentives for winning the league matches, with teams getting USD 40,000 each. The total prize pot of USD 10 million remains the same as the last edition, although the winning team in 2015 won USD 3.75 million. Broadcast wise, ICC has announced a state-of-the-art coverage which will include a minimum of 32 cameras in attendance for each of the 48 matches to be played, including eight ultra-motion Hawk-Eye cameras, front and reverse-view stump cameras and Spidercam. Odisha government has prepared a massive plantation drive to create a green barricade along the coast as more than 20 lakh trees were destroyed in cyclone Fani that pounded the state at a wind speed of about 200 kmph, officials said Saturday. The Rs 188 crore five-year plan aims to create a green barricade along the coast and generate green cover in cyclone-hit Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Kerala CM opens floor for trading at London Stock Exchange, attends listing of KIIFB masala bonds

Kerala government believes that the Rs 2,150 crore of masala bonds sold by KIIFB will assist in attracting investments and funds especially for rebuilding efforts post the calamitous floods last year in the state. In a first for an Indian chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday opened the floor for trading at the prestigious London Stock Exchange (LSE) and attended the listing ceremony of a masala bond from Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB). Masala bonds are essentially offshore bonds that are denominated in Indian rupees. Kerala’s Left government believes that the Rs 2,150 crore of masala bonds sold by KIIFB will assist in attracting investments and funds especially for rebuilding efforts post the calamitous floods last year in the state.
